Panic takes over at the first glimpse of the amazing photographs taken by Panhandle Helicopter pilot JR Hott, which reveal the Florida coastline invaded by ‘tsunami wave clouds’, but fear not as these are only clouds that cover the coastline buildings. The low-lying haze can be clearly seen enveloping the buildings from Panama City, Florida, and the visual spectacle is just breathtaking.
Nature’s phenomenons can be spectacular especially when they are nor showing their destructive force, and these wave clouds have managed to attract a generous amount of attention from weather enthusiasts and not only.
Dr Greg Forbes, from weather.com, said that the amazing wave clouds are formed as moist air is pushed towards the coastline, slowed down by friction which ‘gives it a little extra convergence and an upward forcing of the air to rise’ which enables the clouds to go over the high buildings facing the Ocean and down again towards the ground, thus lowering the relative humidity enabling the clouds to dissipate. The high humidity that formed right off the shoreline caused the clouds to form as low and enabled Mr. Hott to take pictures of a rare natural phenomenon.
According to DailyMail, Mr. Hott told KATU that the photographs were taken during a flight on a Sunday. He said:
“We jumped into helicopter and took off. Within a few minutes after we landed, it covered up the helipad.”
The cyber world is constantly evolving and sometimes this evolution doesn’t bring all positive things with it as experts revealed a new virus is targeting your PC’s. Apparently the new class viruses named drive-by emails are sent via your email but the catch is this time the computer will be affected even without opening the attachment.
The user will not be informed about the attack on your computer as the email itself doesn’t contain a virus but it automatically downloads malicious software on your PC, from the moment the email is clicked to be opened. With no warning from your security defence pack, the virus will be downloaded onto your computer and the only message that will appear will be “Loading”.
According to DailyMail, security experts from Eleven Research Team say that these new generation of viruses will target and affect even people who don’t usually open unknown links or attachments in emails.
“This sort of spam also affects cautious users which would never open an unknown attachment or link. This driveby spam automatically downloads malware when the e-mail is opened in the e-mail client. Previous malware e-mails required the user to click on a link or open an attachment for the PC to be infected. The new generation of e-mail-borne malware consists of HTML e-mails which automatically downloads malware when the e-mail is opened. This is similar to so-called driveby downloads which infect a PC by opening an infected website in the browser.”
A usual relaxation day turned mystery for kayaker Rory O’Connor from Florida, when his fishing was disrupted by a swimming dog, a mile off the coast. The moment which was captured on camera shows Mr. O’Connor’s moment of surprise when he looks back and sees a dog swimming alone towards him. He looks around as sees no one before calling the dog to him, to pluck him out of the water.
After being retrieved out of the cold ocean water, the dog, who’s name is Barney, is seen shivering severely when the kayaker observes that he’s also bleeding. It is at this point when Mr. O’Conner decides to take the dog to shore and try to find its owner before heading with the dog to the veterinarian.
It was only until later that he found out the dog actually belonged to a hit and run victim, 53 year old Donna Chen. Ms. Chen was apparently out jogging with her beloved three year old pet Barney, when a car driven by a 22 year old struck the woman to her death. It is this moment when Barney apparently in shock ran for his life and decided open water was better than land.
According to DailyMail, the driver who hit Ms. Chen was 22 year old Blake Talman, a youngster that was out partying with his friends. It appears that he and his friends were told to move from a beach concession stand by police officers after several people complained about their allegedly drunken behaviour. Afterwards Mr. Talman and his friends turned to his parked car where they, according to one of his friends, drank some more and listened to music, before deciding to leave. Soon after leaving the young driver is said to have hit a truck and then believed to have fled the scene, after which he struck a pole and Ms. Chen, who was out jogging.
The rescued dog has been returned to Ms. Chen’s family, her husband and children and is recovering well.
A leisure day for 5 couples and a hot air balloon pilot turned tragic as the balloon has burst into flames while up in the air and plummeted down killing all the passengers on board. The tragic accident took place in New Zealand and according to eye witness reports, the incident took place after the hot air balloon hit some power lines and caught fire. In an attempt to save their life and avoid getting burned, two of the passengers leaped out of the balloon’s basket, but hence they were about 50 meters up into the air, the two did not survive the impact with the Earth’s surface.
The hot air balloon piloted by Lance Hopping, has crashed in New Zealand, near Wellington. The balloon crashed on an open field close to a house and just meters away from a road, but the passengers on board had no chance of survival as the burning balloon came crashing down. In the place the balloon hit the grown the grass was severely burned and revealed the ‘scars’ of the tragic accident.
Apparently the area is quite famous among thrill seeking tourists and residents, but this is an incident that shocked the community. Although it’s been reported that the victims have been identified, their names have yet to be released to the press. The only name of the horrific crash victim who has been revealed, is the name of the hot air balloon pilot, Mr. Lance Hopping.
An eye witness told New Zealand Herald that:
“It was just terrible. We were just having breakfast and we have big windows that face out onto where the balloon was coming down. I got up to have a cup of tea and I looked out the window and saw the balloon coming down. But then it started to shoot up in the air. I said to my husband ‘Oh no, the basket’s on fire, the basket’s on fire’. And it shot up in the air, which I guess was because of the heat and we saw two people jump out and everyone was screaming – the screaming was just terrible – and then when the canopy went up flames it just dropped. It was going up at a very big rate. I wouldn’t like to say how high but it was a very long way up.”
The New Zealand hot air balloon accident is one of the area’s most horrific accidents of this kind in the last 4 decades.
It seems that comedian Billy Crystal will be replacing Eddie Murphy and host the Oscars 2012 show. The news has been confirmed by the actor on his Twitter account and by KABC and hence Billy has plenty of experience with the event, having hosted the Oscars for eight times so far, he won’t have a hard time getting into the red carpet ‘groove’.

Star Eddie Murphy turned away from the offer to host the 2012 Oscars after producer Brett Ratner resigned form his production post. Ratner was slammed for making a homophobic slur at the screening of his new movie “Tower Heist” last week, so his handpicked host, Eddie Murphy, decided to give the ‘boot’ to the offer the day after Ratner resigned. The production post was filled in by Brian Grazer.
To the rescue came Billy Crystal, who expressed his joy over the decision to host the show 8 years after his last appearance as host for the world renowned event, tweeted his fans in a characteristic style:
“Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions. Looking forward to the show.”
