It seems that looks matter in the world of the wild as well as proven by the rare ginger seal born on Tyuleniy Island, Russia. The cute ginger seal stands far from others through its strange coloration and stunning blue eyes, combination that has already conquered the hearts of animal lovers across the world. However, the cute little seal got off to a wrong start when she was rejected by the seal community she was born in, and because her chances of survival alone were slim, a Russian dolphinarium adopted the little baby seal now named Nafanya apparently after a lookalike Soviet cartoon character.
The world fell in love with the ginger seal after being photographed by 61 year old Russian photographer Anatoly Strakhov, a picture which shows a lonely seal looking out towards her fellow black seal community.
Now looking better than ever and having gather quite a few fans, Nafanya relaxes and has fun in a brand new loving environment among humans. The head of the Akvatoria dolphinarium, Yulia Frolova, said that:
“She now has a special enclosure with a pool, and two weeks after her arrival, people are already coming to see her. She has a good appetite, and always seems in a happy mood. She is such an unusual seal with very beautiful bright blue eyes. When she arrived, she was tired after the long flight, but soon picked up her appetite.”
Because of her rare coloration, Nafanya the ginger seal has receives a personal web cam which has been fitted in her enclosure so fans can watch a live streaming of their favourite seal between certain hours.
