Hot Halloween Costumes 2010

Hot Halloween Costumes 2010

It may still be September, but people are already putting a ton of thought into what they will be wearing this Halloween. Some of the hottest Halloween costumes of 2010 may come as a surprise, while others are certainly Halloween stalwarts.

Alice in Wonderland Costumes are Hot

The Tim Burton directed movie, Alice in Wonderland, that starred Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway is no doubt going to be a top seller this year. Costumes of the film’s characters, including the Red Queen, the White Queen, the Cheshire Cat, Alice and the Mad Hatter are already selling well. In particular, the Mad Hatter, with his colorful, crazy head of hair and ragged. patchwork oversized hat are the #1 costume being stocked up by Halloween costume vendors.

Lady Gaga Costumes

Lady Gaga is always reliable for dressing in crazy, futuristic and abstract outfits (hello meat outfit!), that there are several styles of Lady Gaga costumes being stocked on store shelves, including a Pokerface outfit, an outfit that she wore at the MTV Video Music Awards and some other outfits that she has worn in popular videos and performances.

The Situation and Snooki Costumes

Jersey Shore costumes are said to be some of the most requested costumes on retailer shelves this Halloween. People are interested in dressing up with the wigs and big hair apparently. No doubt spray tanning supplies will also be a big selling accessory.

Classic Costumes Always Sell Well

Retailers are also stocking costumes that are popular every year, from mummies to witches to vampires to pirates and classic animated and film characters. Like every year, character costumes from film and TV franchises like Star Trek, Star Wars, Batman, Spiderman, Ironman and Harry Potter are ever popular.

Children’s Costumes for Halloween 2010

Princess Fiona costumes are hot with children this year, largely due to the release of Shrek Forever After back in May of this year. While it might be difficult for kids to dress up as Shrek, Princess Fiona has certainly struck a chord with young girls and that looks to be the hottest costume for that demographic. For young boys, there’s probably no character more popular than Bumblebee from the Transformers movies. You’ll also see plenty of Toy Story characters out trick or treating this year, with the release of Toy Story 3 over the summer. Avatar costumes also seem to be gaining traction with kids and teens, as well as adults.
