Paris Hilton arrested at World Cup on drugs charges

Paris Hilton was arrested last night under the charges of drug addiction, i.e. she was found guilty of smoking dope. This twenty nine year socialite appeared in court quite later after being dragged out from the Holland-Brazil clash in Port Elizabeth’s Nelson Mandela Bay stadium. She was directly taken off to the police station where her fingerprints were taken together with Jennifer Rovero, 31, a freelance photographer and close pal of hers. At another special World Cup court, Rovero an ex glamour model was fined approximately £80 when found guilty of possessing cannabis. However, all charges against Hilton were dropped. South African police officials reported last night that they were considering deportation proceedings against Rovero, an American citizen. Brigadier Miranda Mills, a spokeswoman said “The case was considered in court and the charges against Ms Hilton were dropped. Her friend Jennifer Rovero pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and was sentenced.”

Danone Nations Cup World Final Kick-off

PARIS, 4 May /PRNewswire/ — The Danone Nations Cup is 11 years old! Eleven years of dreams, contacts and sports shared by more than 18 million children. From September 30th through October 3rd, 2010, after six months of national qualifying games in 40 countries, the Danone Nations Cup World Final will fire up South Africa with real human adventure. Zinedine Zidane, faithful ambassador, will be present to launch the final of the world’s largest football competition for children, for the first time away from France. Beyond the boundaries of sport, this event, now destined to travel all around the globe, will also locally commit to children and health by helping sustainable initiatives.

This year, the World Final will be held outside France for the first time, in South Africa. A few weeks after their professional elders, the children of the Danone Nations Cup will compete in the world phases of the competition in Johannesburg, from September 30th through October 3rd, 2010.

This will be a fabulous adventure for the young representatives of the 40 participating countries. Beyond the sport, this event is a major human adventure. Driven by Danone’s desire to act sustainably on behalf of children’s well-being and health, the Danone Nations Cup will work with local associations and contribute to targeted programmes to fight malnutrition or obesity in each host country of future finals. Football, as a universal sport, is an excellent vector for these initiatives and for Danone’s values. Sporting values like fair play, the pleasure of the game, team spirit, sharing, and above all human values like openness, and respect.

Joining the finalists of the 2010 competition will be all the teams already qualified for the World Finals of the 2009 Danone Nations Cup. This final had chosen to be postponed because of the H1N1 flu pandemic.

Thus, more than 1,120 children will come together in South Africa to take part in a record-breaking competition.

For the official kick-off of the 2010 Danone Nations Cup World Final, the children and Zinedine Zidane, the competition’s ambassador, invite everyone to participate in the world’s longest pass.(see video)

The World Cup is Scoring in All Markets

GIBRALTAR, June 14, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — The eyes of more than half the world will be glued to the TV for the next few weeks as the FIFA World Cup kicks off. The tournament is the perfect opportunity for markets to boost their profits. Video games, beverages, lingerie and even online casinos are all taking advantage of the demand for high-margin promotional endorsements.

The world of advertising is swamped by football-related products in the lead up to the start of the tournament. Brands such as Budweiser, Adidas, Sony and McDonalds are all riding the wave as fans flock to the stores for a piece of the action during the four-week soccer tournament. Cameras, condoms, pens and T-shirts will drive hundreds of millions of pounds in additional revenue during the month of June to retailers worldwide.

The trend has now taken off on the internet as well. Online sites want to be part of the celebration and are offering free hotels and tickets to some of the biggest football games of the year. At casino.com they are offering an online promotion with a chance to win amazing prizes to help spice up the event. When asked about the promotion, a spokesman at casino.com commented, “Because the tournament is so big, we want our players to get the most out of it. A free LCD or Sony Blu Ray Home Cinema System is the perfect gift for this time of the year.” So gear up and score big as the World Cup takes over the market across all forms of media.
